Today, I rock. Tomorrow...who knows?

I got my Basic Animal Science midterm back. 95.6%! I'm relieved and proud, but I won't stop being nervous til I get my A&P marks back. Hopefully that'll be tomorrow, but who knows.

I guess its just nice to know that studying my ass off really does make a difference and that yes, I am smart enough to do this. I was on the bus home with one of the second years today and he repeated again that if I can get through this term and next I'll be just fine. I know these courses are weeder courses, but all that really means to me is that I'm determined to do especially well in them, just to prove I can. I was talking with one of my classmates the other day and she brought up a good point. Dr. Henson is such a hard-ass on us, and she loves to pick on us, but all it really does is make us want to prove her wrong by acing the class. Maybe that's her intention, I don't know. It sure works well for me anyway.

I had my first Breed ID test in animal science today. I'd studied and studied and studied and still went in feeling doomed. I just can't tell sheep apart, no matter how hard I try. Luckily, she took pity on us and only included about 4 sheep breeds, and those were nicely photographed to show off obvious differences. I did pretty well on the cattle portion and very well on the camelids. I can't wait for the equine section, I can nail that one!

Anyway, back to studying. I have a quiz on the integumentary system tomorrow morning, and I'm not as prepared as I'd like. Stratum Germinativum, Stratum Spinosum, Stratum Granulosum, Stratum Lucidum, Stratum Corneum. These are the layers of the epidermis. Meissner's Corpuscles are touch receptors, Pacinian Corpuscle senses pressure and deep touch, Merkel cells are touch receptors, Langerhans cells are the macrophages of the epidermis.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Just for fun, here's a picture of Dave.
