*yawn*

I think it might be past my bedtime, but I wanted to do a quick post first.

I started today by failing an A&P quiz...rock on. Actually, I *may* have passed it, if she decides to give me partial credit for some of my answers. I'm miffed about it because I should have known that stuff, but I just completely blanked as soon as I looked at the paper. On the bright side, it seems like everyone else in the class flubbed it too, so maybe she'll be forgiving with her marking.

After that charming wake-up call we had a very long, dry lecture about metabolism. With boring diagrams on powerpoint and the lights off. Ohhhhh man.
The girl behind me actually fell asleep, and I caught at least 3 more with eyes almost closed. The yawns were going off about every 30 seconds around the room, and I was poking myself in the leg with my pen to stay awake. After lecture we all started discussing ways to stay awake for that class, because it seems that everyone is having a problem with it. A couple of us are going to try skipping her pre-printed notes and write our own to see if that keeps us focused, but I'm not overly hopeful. The teacher is really nice, but she doesn't ask for feedback or interaction from us as she's lecturing, so it's really difficult to stay engaged.

Lab today was intro to microscope. Kinda old hat for me, though I do like my scope for this year much better than the one I had in 112. I can get the ocular lenses close enough together that I'm not seeing double and giving myself migraines, which is a big plus in my book.

After class I came home and baked a cake for B's birthday party. The party was a blast, and the food was fantastic. B and some friends had gone out mushroom picking today, so we were treated to homemade pizza topped with olives, romano cheese, and chanterelles. There was also an amazing lobster mushroom pizza at the end that was absolutely delicious. Happy Birthday again B!

Tomorrow is Animal science again, so I'm going to skim my notes before bed. She likes giving us pop quizzes to put the fear into us, and I want to be prepared. She did announce last class that the first pop quiz we'd had (the one that over half the class failed) was her way of telling us to wake up. She does it every year, every year the class bombs it, and every year she makes the quiz worth extra credit, not an actual grade. I got 85% on it, so I'm happy either way.

Alright, study...then bed!
